NDS Community Change Networks

To meet the sustainability challenges currently facing our sector, disability service providers will have to work cooperatively. We will have to find inspiration and celebrate the innovation found in our diversity. Through Community Change Networks, NDS is seeking to draw on the innovation Queensland communities generate each day.

As a first step, NDS has facilitated a series of workshops aimed at reminding participants of the power, credibility and leadership present in their own communities. The workshops used Margaret Wheatley's 10 Principles for Creating Healthy Community Change as a starting point for discussion. From these workshops, grass-roots networks have been strengthened and some community service providers have already taken fresh action to address the need for change in their communities.

Community Change Network activities will continue throughout the year.

How can NDS support change in your community?

NDS would like to invite Queensland service providers to step forward with their suggestions for ways in which NDS can support grass-roots action in their local communities.

Does your service or network have specific needs around the Quality System?

Would you like to facilitate or become involved in a local area network?

Are you considering an ambitions Disability Action Week event?

Are you ready to be part of the change you want to see in your local community?

Please contact the Sector Development Project Manager, Catherine Goodall, on (07) 3357 4188 or via her email (catherine.goodall@nds.org.au).
