Terms and conditions
Cancellation and refund policy
The NDS Queensland office must receive registration cancellations in writing (mail, email or fax) by 17 October 2008. If you have not received acknowledgement within two business days, please contact NDS on (07) 3357 4188.
Cancelling your conference registration
Cancellations dated before 24 September will incur a fee of 25% of the registration amount. No refunds will be made for cancellations for the Conference dated on or after 17 October 2008, however substitutions may be accepted.
Late registrations
Delegates who choose to register onsite will be required to pay for all related costs immediately (cash, cheque or credit card). Receipts will be sent to the delegate concerned after the conference.
The organisers cannot guarantee that material, such as satchels, will be available to late registering delegates (that is anyone booking less than one week prior to the conference start date). In addition, social program functions may be fully subscribed, and therefore unavailable for late registrations.
Insurance
Registration fees do not include insurance of any kind. No responsibility is taken by National Disability Services or the conference organisers for any person not holding insurance. It is strongly recommended that participants take out their own general travel insurance. It is suggested that the insurance policy should also cover loss of fees/deposit, airfares, accommodation charges, medical expenses, loss or damage to personal property and repatriation expenses. In the event of industrial disruptions or service provider failures, NDS does not accept any responsibility for losses incurred by delegates. The Insurance should cover loss arising from the cancellation of the conference by the organisers or a person's inability to attend due to any reason whatsoever. Participants carry their own risk for personal injury or loss of property, including baggage, during the conference.
Video and photograph consent
National Disability Services (NDS) will obtain photographs and/or video footage of delegates and speakers during the Communities of Practice Conference 2008. Photographs and video footage may be used in reports, in general publications, electronically on websites and in emails, in promotional material and during presentations and/or training. If you would like to refuse your consent for NDS publishing images obtained of you at the Communities of Practice Conference 2008, please contact the NDS Queensland office.
Privacy
NDS is committed to respecting the privacy and confidentiality of conference delegates. Please contact the NDS Queensland office if you would like to withdraw your name, organisation and state from the 'Delegate List' which may be made available to sponsors and/or delegates.
Distribution of onsite advertising leaflets and handouts
Distribution of printed material at this conference is limited to those organisations and individuals who have paid for such distribution through their contract as a sponsor, exhibitor or advertiser. Distribution can be defined as, but is not limited to: satchel inserts, seat drops and static display of material on tables and other surfaces within the conference venue. If you have not previously arranged distribution and wish to request this, please speak to the staff at the registration desk. Your request will be considered by the conference organisers. However you should be aware that payment of a fee may be required.
