The Sector Development Project

The Sector Development project supports non government organisations by strengthening organisational capacity and relationships. The project also engages communities in local planning around the current and future needs of people with a disability.

Sector Development project activities aid organisations as they address issues of compliance and sustainability while maintaining a strong mission, value base and focus on the needs of people with a disability.

Because NDS recognises that leaders emerge from community initiatives, the project will also seek to foster a community of practice. Our community of practice will be a place where people can share their experiences, concerns, reflect and be supported in an ongoing way.

NDS Community Change Networks are currently being facilitated around the state. A range of workshops, forums and on site visits will also take place around the regions throughout 2008. The purpose of these activities will be to address a number of specific issues, including:
